I’ve designed these free sign templates three different styles of my hand lettering to choose from. It’s the easiest way to get a semi- custom sign- just pick the one that will best reflect your business style. 

These signs all say ‘closed for Canada Day’ with some red accents and mostly simple black text to keep it clear and easy to read. Underneath, there’s a hand illustrated Canadian Flag beside a blank space for when you’ll be back open and your website or social handle so customers can find you online- sweet and simple! 

Once you’ve downloaded your free templates, all you have to do is pick the one you like the best and modify it with your business information. Just like that, you can mark this task complete!

How To Print Your Free Printable Closed Signs For Businesses

These closed signs are PDF files. There’s three pages in one document, you can print them all or just the one you choose. The great thing about using a PDF file is they provide a fuss-free way to print high-quality signs that fit perfectly with your printer’s paper size. No tweaking, editing, or specialized paper is needed. Just straightforward printing!

These signs are US letter size, so there’s no wasted paper. 

Before printing, you can choose to edit these closed for the Canada Day holiday signs with your hours and information, I use either Canva (free) or Adobe Acrobat for this, I believe there’s a free trial available for this. You can use this design template and even add your own logo at this stage before saving a PDF version and sending to print.

You can send these to a local print shop or you can use your business or home printer to get these ready and in your storefront in less than five minutes. 

For best results, I recommend using thicker paper than just your standard printer paper- any card stock is great for these. Just a heads-up, each printer has its own limits on paper thickness. Not sure about yours? A quick Google search with your printer’s make and model will clear that up quickly. My home printer can handle regular card stock really well.

Cardstock will give you a more high-quality, professional appearance and won’t be see through when put on a glass door like standard printer paper.

If you like, you could frame signs or laminate them to last year to year. If you do laminate them, you could do that before writing your temporary hours on as they change each year. Write in a dry erase marker and update them next year! It’s the best way to make sure you’re ready for next year, just pop it in a file with all your signs for the year.
