Download these free soccer valentine’s cards (american football theme!) to print and share with your kids classroom or their soccer team, your students, or your own children. With a 8 playful hand lettered valentines sentiments to choose from, these cute soccer themed valentines cards are ready to be shared this valentine’s day!
The boys in our house are such soccer fans. Two of them requested soccer themed valentines cards to hand out this year. Over candy, even!
The past few years I just let them pick store bought valentines day cards (from the dollar store kind of quality) but there’s no soccer specific ones and this year, since I’m sharing free printables with you here all the time, I thought I’d make my own for my little soccer player team!
Wait… soccer? I think you mean football! Here in Canada, we call football soccer and American football just football.
I asked the soccer lovers in my house for any input on what phrases or sentiments they’d like to see and other than asking for a Messi valentine card (which I assured them I could not draw well- lol!) they were pretty open to my ideas.
I chose to add a fun grass themed background instead of a typical white background and instead add white lettering and a white soccer ball, some in the shape of the heart and some just with one little heart shape on them. I really love how the white details pop against the grass background.
They’re the perfect valentine for the sports fans in your life!
We created 8 unique designs of this soccer valentine card, all hand lettered by me with little hearts to top all of the ‘i’s (of course). They print all 8 to one sheet with a space to write names on the reverse. The reverse side says ‘Happy Valentines’
The phrases on the cute valentine cards include:
- Have a Ball This Valentines
- Soccer has my heart + so do you!
- Happy Valentines Day
- Hey Valentine, I like how you roll!
- I get a kick outta you!
- Love (with a heart shaped soccer ball for the O)
- I really scored with you as a friend!
- You’ve got game, valentine!

How to use these printable soccer ball happy valentines day cards
This is a PDF download you can snag for free below. These are just regular print files so once you’ve printed them out, you just need to cut them to size and assemble. You can use a paper cutter for the straight cuts and if it’s important for you to have rounded corners on your cards, you can get a corner clipper like this or have your kids cut the corners with scissors.
We have a slider style paper cutter like this craft one at home that my kids like to use (paper cutters are way more fun than scissors to little hands!). Since the slider doesn’t detach easily and the blade is really tiny, I feel comfortable even letting my small kids use it for this sort of project.
Our kids are happy to bring these to school and pass them out as is as a mini classroom greeting card, but if your kids were set on having a little gift or handout with the cards, here’s some ideas and links to find them in bulk packs for a classroom full of kids on Amazon:
- Soccer Water Bottle Stickers (vinyl)
- Soccer Stress Balls (my kids love these things!)
- Soccer bouncy ball set
- Soccer slap bracelets
- Soccer bracelets
- Soccer pencils with soccer balls shaped erasers
And even though you can totally get soccer whistles, I’m NOT linking those for you because your teacher would email me complaints 😉
You can package these up in little cellophane bags and tape them to your valentine card or you can just tape the goodie straight to the card if you prefer. Pencils can be poked through the cards, just cut small slits near the top and bottom of the cards and slide the pencil through- making the valentines cards a kind of flag.

What’s the best way to print these free Valentines?
You can print these free valentine’s cards any way you like, but I have a couple suggestions for the best results!
While every free printable is different, these printable cards are simple 8.5×11″ PDF documents which makes them incredibly easy to print at home or at your local print shop. They will print just like a document, without special settings like a photo.
I prefer to print any gift tags or greeting cards like these soccer valentines on a thick paper like white cardstock (I have this card stock at home right now). They look more professional than regular paper and hold up better to being passed out this way, much like a store-bought quality card.
I’ve designed this printable file to be double sided with space for your child (or you!) to write names on the back of the cards. Make sure you select double sided when you send it to print!
The grass background does take quite a bit of color ink so I did make the lettering and designs white to save on ink a little bit if you are using your home printer. Since they do use a little more printer ink, I chose to send these up to the print shop when printing off a set for my boys’ classrooms. If I just wanted to print a page or two though, I’d definitely do it at home. There’s really no need for ‘professional’ valentines cards, especially if you’re handing these out as classroom valentines!
You can use a paper cutter instead of scissors for the long straight parts to help the cutting of these files go quickly but the rounded corners will need some scissor work or a corner punch like this.
We have a slider style paper cutter like this craft one at home that my kids like to use (paper cutters are way more fun than scissors to little hands!). Since the slider doesn’t detach easily and the blade is really tiny, I feel comfortable even letting my small kids use it for this sort of project.
Alright! I’ll leave it at that- I hope that you enjoy this valentine’s day printable! It’s the perfect way to add your kids’ favorite sport into their valentines day celebrations.
